To provide a system for directly acquiring information on the direction of a mobile object without using trajectories or the earth's magnetism.
The present invention buries a wireless IC tag in a plane on which a mobile object moves. Coordinate information stored in the wireless IC tag is acquired simultaneously from two places by two antennas of the mobile object, and the travelling direction of the mobile object is calculated from the coordinate information. Further, the state of reception of radio signals transmitted by three wireless IC tags respectively disposed on the peaks of an equilateral triangle is tracked by a rotating antenna of the mobile object, and the direction of the mobile object is estimated by calculating information on the azimuth of each of the three wireless IC tags with respect to the travelling direction of the mobile object.
