To provide a system and method for authentication when remotely accessing a document processing device in a mobile environment.

The system for authentication stores address data including address information associated with a mobile data device in a data storage device (S502). A data message including identification data assigned to a mobile data device is received from the mobile data device , and on the basis of a comparison output indicating the presence of address data corresponding to the received identification data in the data storage device, operation of a document processing device is selectively started (S508). Electronic document data corresponding to an electronic document and instruction data associated with document processing operation are recived. Confirmation data corresponding to confirmation of the desired document processing operation is transmitted to the mobile data device (S514). Depending on the instruction data, the desired document processing operation on the electronic document data is commenced in the document processing device.
