Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with the difference between incoming/outgoing band width at the time of making internet connection possible by utilizing conventional CATV network.
SOLUTION: A center 2 transmits dead incoming channel information indicating dead channel to a terminal equipment to detect a channel acquiring request signal from the terminal equipment 50. When it is detected, the center 2 detects the presence and absence of a dead channel within an incoming channel and when it exists, the center 2 transmit assignment information terminal equipment for assigning one of them to the terminal equipment to transmit ands receive information with the terminal equipment by the channel. On the other hand, when data addressed to a center from a personal computer is detected, the terminal equipment 50 detects dead incoming channel information to select one dead channel and transmits a channel acquiring request signal to the center. At the time of detecting channel assigning information, the channel 50 executes transmission and detection with the center by using the designated incoming channel.
