Abstract:
To provide a system and a method for charging a vehicle system.SOLUTION: A controller for charging a vehicle system 100 is configured to: control transfer of electric energy between two or more energy storage devices of a plurality of energy storage devices of the vehicle system 100 in which at least one energy storage device is installed and provided; identify a restriction on the transfer; and change a transfer characteristic based at least in part on the identified transfer restriction. The controller is configured to monitor the transfer of the electric energy between one or more energy storage devices installed and provided on the vehicle system 100 and energy transfer substations which are not installed on the vehicle system 100. A method for charging the vehicle system 100 includes steps of: controlling the transfer of electric energy between two or more energy storage devices; identifying restriction on the transfer; and changing a transfer characteristic based at least in part on the restriction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
