Abstract:

To provide a system and a method for controlling extrusion molding of variable cross section capable of easily controlling the shape to the length of a formed body with a simple equipment in parallel to extrusion of the formed body, and achieving extrusion molding of a structural member of variable cross section with high dimensional accuracy.

The opening area of a die hole is changed by changing means 31, 32 while depressing and extruding a forming material 15 fed into a container 16 from the die hole by a pressing means 17. In mold the molded body whose cross section area is changed in the extruding direction, the ratio of change of the opening area of the die hole to the length of the molded body and the extrusion quantity of the formed body by the pressing means 17 are set in a control means 35 in advance, the quantity of change of the opening area by the changing means 31, 32 is controlled by the control means 35 so as to obtain the extrusion length and opening area of the molded body corresponding to the movement while detecting the movement of the pressing means during the extrusion molding.
