To provide a system and a method for driving dot matrix light-emitting diode displays.
A drive system includes a controller, a scan line driver, and a signal line driver. The controller outputs a scan line control signal and a signal line control signal. The scan line driver generates a scan line drive signal in accordance with the scan line control signal. The scan line drive signal has ON periods and OFF periods. The signal line driver generates a signal line drive signal in accordance with the signal line control signal. The signal line driver generates a discharge control signal or a charge control signal during the OFF periods to form discharge paths or charge paths along with a plurality of signal lines. This allows parasitic capacitors on scan lines to be discharged or parasitic capacitors on the signal lines to be charged.
