To provide a DC distribution system for aircraft.
The system includes a DC system bus 20, which is constructed to carry power from a power supply source 14 to a plurality of electric loads 16. The electric load lies aboard an aircraft 10. The DC system bus includes a load side. The system includes a plurality of power converter modules which are coupled electrically with one another in series to the DC system bus on the load side of the DC system bus. The power converter module is constructed to be attached electrically to the corresponding subset of electric load. At least one of the power converter module is constructed to be short-circuited in response to a fault so that at least one power converter module may not supply power to the corresponding subset of the electric load.
