PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for expanding hardware functions of a computing device of which the hardware functions can be expanded.SOLUTION: The system for expanding hardware functions of a computing device includes: a creation module which is executed in the computing device and creates virtual hardware corresponding to physical hardware to be used, in the computing device; a detection module which detects an external device to which the physical hardware is installed; an establishment module which establishes a transmission line between the virtual hardware and the external device; a request module which transmits a processing request for data and processing data to the external device via the transmission line to request processing of data in the external device using the physical hardware; and a reception module which receives the processing result transmitted from the external device via the transmission line and then stores the processing result in a storage device.
