Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the system and method for improving high-speed reproduction of an SPU in a DVD reproducing device.
SOLUTION: A system time clock(STC) and the execution time (SP- DCSQ-STM-N) of an instruction set for carrying out display control in a sub- picture unit are compared with each other (step 20). When a comparison means determines that, at the time of high-speed reproduction of the sub-picture unit, the system time clock carrying out high-speed increment operation has a value greater than an execution time (SP-DCSQ-STM-N+1) of an instruction command which is at least one set forward (Y of step 20), display of pixel data(PXD) included in that sub-picture unit is forcedly stopped (step 22), and interpretation of an instruction set in the next sub-picture unit is started (step 24).
