To provide a system and a method for inhibiting soil which are capable of sufficiently inhibiting the attachment of soil on a drying part without stopping the operation of a papermaking apparatus.

The system 13 inhibits the soil attaching to the drying part 40 for drying wet paper, and is equipped with a reducing part 50 capable of reducing the attached soil on the drying part 40 and photograph-taking parts 621a, 621b for taking photographs of the soil attached to the drying part 40. A regulating part 61 operates the reducing part 50 based on the soil photographed by the photograph-taking parts 621a, 621b.
