To implement an interactive television application, on a television system, for providing an enhanced PVR-related function.
A method and a system that provide a functionally enhanced personal video recorder (PVR) and an interactive television program guide function are provided. This application is used for selecting display of a list of video recording for the PVR, recording reservation for the PVR, settings of the video recording, viewing of a list of the recording reservation, settings of a video recording condition, or settings of delete priority for the video recording. The application integrates pay-per-view and a PVR function, and sends a user notification for change that will be made to contents of the video recording for the PVR. Live programming is buffered by the application using a straight buffer that is created for each new program. A parallel buffer for concurrent programs is implemented using multiple tuners. Television contents are automatically paused when the user begin to use the application.
