To provide a system and method for lubricating a printing unit which intends to save space of the printing unit and enables the adjustment of the temperature of the lubricant for its higher functionality.
The system for lubricating a printing unit includes a lubricant supply device which supplies the lubricant to a roller drive mechanism which drives or works a plurality of rollers 5 provided with the printing units 2a to 2d in a cooperative manner, the roller drive mechanism including roller axes 6 on one side pivotally supporting respective ends of the multiple rollers 5 and roller axes 7 on the other side pivotally supporting the respective other ends. The lubricant supply device is provided on the bottom of the printing units 2a to 2d, including a lubricant tank 8 which traps the lubricant, lubricant discharge channels 9 and 10 which discharge the lubricant to the common lubricant dropping position 8A in the lubricant tank 8 from the respective roller axes 6, 7, and a lubricant delivery device which conveys the lubricant from the lubricant feeding position 8B in the lubricant tank 8.
