PURPOSE: To interactively handle a time consuming interactive inquiry by providing a reopenable patch inquiry object class for connecting a first interaction, a second interaction and a flow.

CONSTITUTION: In order to obtain information for an inquiry, the first interaction is formed by an application executed together with a data base manager or as a part of it. The data base manager controls the processing of the inquiry and generates the flow to an inquiry result and the flow is provided with an object provided with a flow attribute including the list of data base examples for satisfying the inquiry. In order to interactively display the flow, the second interaction is also formed by the application executed together with the data base manager or as a part of it. Then, in a data base management device, in order to connect the first interaction and the second interaction to the inquiry, the reopenable patch inquiry object class is provided. Thus, the time consuming inquiry is made possible in an objectdirective data base management device.
