Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique relating to measuring camera response to a change in a lighting condition.SOLUTION: A method to measure a brightness response of a camera includes: obtaining a plurality of brightness measurement values; and determining a captured brightness of a captured image for one or more of the plurality of brightness measurement values. Obtaining each of the plurality of brightness measurement values includes: presenting to the camera at least one test sample having known brightness; capturing an image of the at least one test sample via the camera; and presenting to the camera at least one compensation sample having compensating brightness selected based on the known brightness of the at least one test sample. The at least one test sample and the at least one compensation sample are selectable and presentable in combination such that an average exposure interpreted by the camera is substantially the same for each of the plurality of brightness measurement values.
