Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional traffic measurement system and method wherein a called terminal station (private branch exchange) of an ISDN relay line cannot set a proper number of ISDN relay lines.
SOLUTION: The private branch exchange has a speech path control unit 1, a central processing unit 2, a storage device 3, an ISDN relay line 4, an extension terminal 5, and a maintenance terminal 6, and the storage device 3 that stores memories 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, and 312 with respect to various ISDN relay lines. The private branch exchange also selects several lines of the ISDN relay lines for measuring the number of incoming calls, restricts the use of main lines, counts the number of the arrival of incoming calls from the main lines, measures the correct number of lines used for incoming calls by accounting for it that a mean speech time is to be busy, counts the number of disabled calls going to use the main lines when all the ISDN lines are busy, by accounting for it that the mean speech time is to be busy so as to measure the correct number of lines used for call origination.
