To provide a system and a method for navigating Web contents by communicating information desired to refer to by a user or information predicted to desire to refer to much less times of communication when accessing contents on a Web server from a portable terminal through a wireless data network.

In an existent system for WAP services, an HDML/WML optimizing server is prepared and an HDML/WML document, which is an information transfer unit comprising contents, is reconstituted while using a card, which is the display unit of a portable telephone, as a unit corresponding to a reference method requested by the user. For example, the HDML/WML document of a designated Web server is acquired and when there is a link in that document, the document of the link destination is acquired as well. Then, a prescribed card is extracted from the deck of these documents and plural card desired to refer to by the user are reconstituted as one deck. Then, the document of one reconstituted deck is sent to the portable telephone. Thus, efficient reference is provided for the user.
