To automatically set parameters of equalizers capable of nearly coinciding with desired frequency characteristics in a listening sense even if changing utilization conditions of loudspeakers to different conditions like when changing control patterns of array loudspeakers.

Parameters of the equalizer, which is adjusted to desired frequency characteristics when the loudspeaker is under prescribed conditions, are stored, and the frequency characteristics are calculated by an operation at an evaluation point in an acoustic space of sound emitted from the loudspeaker when the parameters are set under the prescribed conditions, thus determining target characteristics. When the loudspeaker is under conditions differing from the prescribed ones, the frequency characteristics are calculated by an operation at the evaluation point in the acoustic space of sound emitted from the loudspeaker when the parameters are set to the equalizer, and a difference to the target characteristics is calculated as a characteristic difference. Based on the characteristic difference, the parameters of the equalizer are calculated under conditions differing from the prescribed ones and are set to the equalizer.
