Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of preference data of a viewer by urging the viewer to evaluate a program after viewing it for a specified time or longer.
SOLUTION: The program selection supporting system for retrieving and guiding a program satisfying the preference of a viewer comprises a preference data base recording means recording the preference data of the viewer, means for extracting the program data from broadcast signals, means for retrieving a program satisfying the preference of the viewer from the extracted program data based on the preference data, means for forming a program evaluation screen based on the program data extracted by the program data extracting means, and means for updating the preference data base recording means with data used for evaluating the program on the program evaluation screen.
