To provide a system and a method for providing cooling for a compressive gas power storage system that provides improved cooling for components and/or sub-systems for a power generation system.
In a method for cooling power electronics in a power generation system, in which electricity is generated from stored compressive gas, the method comprising a step of providing the supply source of compressive gas; a step of selectively depressurizing the compressive gas, the depressurization of the compressive gas causing the temperature of the compressive gas to drop down to a fixed temperature; and a step of determining the route of the depressurised gas at power electronics or near the power electronics, and removing heat from the power electronics.
