Abstract:
To provide a system and a method capable of reducing a discharge amount of PM (particulate materials) discharged from a diesel engine installed on a vessel.SOLUTION: By adding cerium system catalyst to fuel and mixing water with the fuel, PM generated by incomplete combustion in an engine combustion chamber is reduced. By installing a diesel particulate collection filter (DPF) in an exhaust system, PMs contained in exhaust gases are collected. Moreover, by installing a combustion apparatus between an engine and the DPF and raising temperature of the exhaust gas up to 600°C or more, PMs collected in the DPF are moved by combustion, and an air injection nozzle is installed on a downstream side of the DPF, and thus backwash removal of ash contents to be combustion residues is possible.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
