Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform flexible and high function routing control on a packet switching network side by making packet switching corresponded to a plurality of routing polices in the packet switching for transmitting and receiving packet data through the network formed by connecting a plurality of routing devices to one another.
SOLUTION: A packet switching system for transmitting and receiving packet data through the packet switching network 100 has a plurality of routing tables #0, #1, #2,... which are provided at the routing devices located at the boundary, the start point or the end point of each routing domain and generated in accordance with different routing policies, an identifier (RTI) attached to the packet data for specifying a plurality of routing tables, and an identifier change means for changing the identifier in the packet switching network 100. The routing device selects any of the routing tables #0 to #2 on the basis of the RTI of received packet data and transfers the packet data to a destination specified by the selected routing table.
