To provide a video transmission system in which use of a reference frame including an error by packet loss is avoided when omission of packets occurs during transmission.
A video transmitter 10 of the video transmission system divides into unit of packet, encoded data obtained by encoding a video frame and transmits the divided encoded data, wherein a video encoding part 100 which encodes a video frame to be transmitted includes an encoding control part 310 which prohibits use of a reference frame including an error part corresponding to a packet in which omission is detected according to error position information indicating an error position on the frame caused by the packet omission during transmission.
