Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for travel distance processing capable of preventing travel distance falsification.
SOLUTION: A travel distance processing unit 3 on board a vehicle 2 has an I/F for communication with an IC card 4, display unit for displaying pictures, input unit for inputting travel distance signals reflecting the covered distance, output unit for controlling the vehicle drive system in response to control signals, encoding unit, memory unit for storing travel distance data and identification information, and a CPU. The CPU generates and transmits addition signals in response to travel distance signals, displays a picture reflecting received travel distance signals, and displays a picture reflecting the result of comparison with the travel distance data stored in the memory unit. The IC card 4 has an I/F for communication, an Fe RAM for storing identification information and travel distance data, an encoding unit, and a CPU for updating the travel distance data in response to received addition signals and transmitting the updated data.
