Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system that can provide the whereabout name of a portable telephone terminal at low cost.
SOLUTION: Each portable telephone terminal 1 transmits a set of peripheral information and a whereabout name to a whereabout name server 2, and the whereabout name server stores it. When a whereabout information console 3 inquires of the whereabout name server about the name of the whereabout where an object portable telephone terminal is resident, the whereabout name server acquires the peripheral information from the object portable telephone terminal and informs the whereabout information console 3 about the whereabout name corresponding to the acquired peripheral information.
