Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for control of a transrectal ultrasound probe for echography.SOLUTION: The system comprises a probe 2 and a structure 3 for supporting the probe 2 that is carried by a wrist 6 of a multiaxial manipulator robot 4. A load cell 5 is operatively set between the wrist 6 of the robot 4 and the probe 2. The system further comprises an electronic control unit for controlling the robot 4, and manual-guide devices 7, 8 for guiding the robot 4. The manual-guide devices 7, 8 are connected to the electronic control unit of the robot 4 and can be maneuvered by an operator for transferring, to the robot 4, plural movements imparted on a manual-guide member 83. When the load cell 5 sends a signal to the effect that a threshold value of a stress detected by the load cell 5 is exceeded, the electronic control unit of the robot 4 activates an alarm condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
