Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a system for selectively treating a traveling web (paper web or cardboard web) by a surface treating method or an immersion treatment.
CONSTITUTION: When a web is treated, at least one coating unit for coating one surface of the web is disposed behind the group of dryers 10, 11, 12. Another coating unit 35 for treating the other surface of the web is disposed in front of another group of dryers. A direction changing means is disposed behind the coating unit 35. The coating and direction-changing systems may be operated in non-contact types, respectively. A non-contact type dryer may later be disposed in the existing drying section.
