Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the readiness of re-start and safety of maintenance by arranging such that no charge remains in the main circuit at the time when the inverter is stopped. CONSTITUTION:In an inverter circuit, upon which the output of a chopper circuit 2 is impressed through a smoothing circuit consisting of a reactor 3 and a capacitor 4, at the time of the start the chopper circuit 2 and an inverter circuit 5 are simultaneously started, and the chopper output voltage is gradually increased. At the time of the stop, the inverter circuit 5 is stopped after a delay time corresponding to the count period of a counter 45 from the stopping of the chopper circuit. Thus, no voltage remains in the main circuit, thus improving the safety of maintenance and permitting quick operation without need of discharge of a capacitor 4 at the time of resuming the operation.
