To provide a table and a method for assembling the table increasable in the strength of leg parts and reducible in the risk of pinching a user's body or the like at the side of the leg part.

The table 1 includes a top plate 11 and the leg parts 13 of hollow column shape. An opening 15 is formed at the upper end of the leg part 13. The leg part 13 is connected to the leg part on the opposite side (not shown in the figure) forming a pair with the leg part 13, by a cylindrical rail 17. The top plate 11 is mounted to be turnable around the rail 17 used as a rotation shaft. A caster support member 67 provided with a caster 65 is arranged inside a lower part 61 of the leg part 13. A lifting mechanism 69, which is a mechanism for transmitting turning of the top plate 11 to the caster support member 67, includes a pivot 71, a rotating member 73, a rod 75, a top plate connecting member 77, etc. The lifting mechanism 69 connects the top plate 11 to the caster support member 67 via the opening 15 of the leg part 13.
