PURPOSE: To automatically set the content of a table at the center of a square by automatically preparing the table only by designating a range for a title and the content of the table prepared on a screen in a word processor.

CONSTITUTION: A character string such as the title or numeric values to be set in the table is inputted from an inputting device 15 by a character string inputting means 11 without considering an interval until the next character string. The range of the table to be prepared is designated from the inputting device 15 by a range designating means. The character string is equally arranged within the designated range by an equal arranging means 13 based on the above mentioned input information. Then, ruled lines are drawn, and the table is established by a table preparing means 14.
