PURPOSE: To provide a long distance motion by interposing a linear motor between two movable tables and thereby moving one of the tables while the other is in the condition fixed to a bed through the action of a brake.

CONSTITUTION: A stationary bed 1 protrude upward at both sides and is equipped with flanges 2 extending parallelly in the longitudinal direction, and a track table 3 is fixed to the bed 1 with a fixture 4 alongside the inner side faces of the two flanges 2. No.1 and 2 movable tables 5, 6 are installed on said track table 3 with linear bearings 7, 9 interposed, in such a way as borne movable freely along the track table 3. A linear motor is installed between No.1 and 2 movable tables 5, 6, and one of them is moved while the other is fixed to the bed 1 by braking means 11, 12.
