To provide a table with a foldable top plate having a shelf, which makes it possible to simply hold the top plate in an appropriate spreading condition in respect of a construction and an operation.

The table with a foldable top plate has a combined construction comprising a table body provided with the foldable/spreadable top plate, and the foldable/spreadable shelf which is removably built in below the top plate of the table body. The shelf is substantially a single rigid shelf plate in a spreading condition, and built in the table body in the spreading condition, thereby it can hold the spread top plate in an appropriate position.
