To provide a table for reading without burden on the hands and arms when a user reads a book in a hospital bed or in a bathtub.

A recess sufficient for placing the book and the hands is cut out from one end edge of a long side of a front table 1a of a table body 1. A sheet part 2 composed of soft and elastic material is fitted to the recess so that the user puts his/her hands holding the book close to the body and lowers his/her hands at an eye-level. A part contacting the hands is formed of the soft material in order to prevent hurting the hands and burden on the elbows and arms while reading.
