PURPOSE: To provide a tabulation system capable of preparing a tabulation by such an arrangement wherein upon receipt of numerical values inputted through a keyboard, a tabulator calculates and displays variables necessary for preparing a tabulation, and after variables are confirmed, laid out compliation information on a tabulation is memorized in a memory medium.

CONSTITUTION: A tabulator 1, in accordance with numerical data inputted through a keyboard 3, automatically calculates and displays variables such as TAB space, ruling start coordinates, etc. necessary for preparing a tabulation and sends a tabulation information to a printer 4 and a magnetic tape 5. The input of data from the keyboard 3 is performed by means of numerical values, and values designating a draft such as the size of character, space between characters, length of a section, etc. are inputted and simultaneously the correction of data can be made by inputting necessary data through the keyboard 3, while watching a display unit 2. As it is possible to confirm input data since numerical data inputted are displayed on the character display of the display unit 2, erroneous input of data can be prevented.
