PURPOSE: To provide a tachograph which can permit a recording needle to execute an attaching/detaching operation without interference with recording paper according to the putting in/out operation of a tray part loading recording paper against a main body.

CONSTITUTION: A switch 26 detects that the tray part 21 has been held by a latch mechanism in the main body 1 in an information recording position by rotation from the unlocking position 24c of a latch 24 to a locking position 24b, which is executed later. The recording needle in the main body 1 is moved after the detection and the needle is brought into contact with recording paper C. At the time of pulling out the tray part 21 from an information recording part to a recording paper exchange part, the switch 26 detects that the latch 24 has been rotated from the locking position 24b to the unlocking position 24c. The recording needle is detached from recording paper C after the detection, and a movement regulation member 27 which is previously engaged to the engagement recessed part 21F of the tray 21 from the engagement recessed part 21F so as to set the tray part 21 to be in a pulling-out possible state.
