Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tackifier resin emulsion with excellent water resistance that is formed by emulsifying a tackifier resin without using an emulsifier, a manufacturing method therefor, and an aqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive composition.
SOLUTION: This tackifier resin emulsion is formed by dispersing a tackifier resin (A1) into water by means of a polymer (A2) with a glass transition temperature (Tg) ≥10°C and a weight average molecular weight of 300-50,000, and having an organic acid group in a molecule. The polymer (A2) may be an acrylic polymer having a (meth)acrylate as a monomeric main component. The organic acid group may be a carboxylic acid group. The aqueous pressure- sensitive adhesive composition comprises the tackifier resin emulsion (A), and a pressure-sensitive adhesive (B) having an acrylic polymer (B1) as a base polymer. The tackifier resin emulsion (A) in an amount of 1-50 pts.wt. may be blended with 100 pts.wt. of the pressure-sensitive adhesive (B).
