To provide a method for performing ending for a tail thread safely, with good operability and easily, and to recycle a paper tube by cutting a tail thread without damaging the paper tube.

According to this tail thread ending method, a winding start filament is held on a thread holding part extending in the circumferential direction on the surface of the end part of a paper tube, and subsequently, in a package formed by a tail thread 1 wound to be engaged with a regular traverse area and a thread taken up in the regular traverse area, the tail thread 1 is cut by a blade surface and the tail thread 1 is drawn out. The scissors has a blade surface formed by one member, the member is curved, a blade surface is formed on the substantially end part, and the blade surfaces are brought into sliding contact with each other to fulfill a cutting function.
