PURPOSE: To provide a take-up device which does not require to extend the setting area by the moving margin, or move the equipment or facilities following a belt conveyor.

CONSTITUTION: A take-up device 12 has a screw shaft 8 partially screwed to a fixing member 9 and supported in such a manner as to be vertically movable, a pair of snap pulleys 13, 15 for bending down the return side part 3a of a belt 3, a bearing member 6 guided by a slide frame 7 in such a manner as to be capable of vertically sliding, and engaged with the end part of the screw shaft 8, and a regulating pulley 15 whose shaft enter part 15a is supported by the bearing member 16 to pull down the return side part 3a of the belt 3. When the belt 3 is loosened, the screw shaft 8 is rotated to move the regulating pulley 15 downward. Namely, a driven-side pulley 2 for supporting the belt 3 along the carrying direction is never moved.
