PURPOSE: To take up a package which endures the high speed release without carrying out ribbon winding by forming different number of winding grooves and a branching part for assorting threads into the thread passages corresponding to different number of winding grooves on a drum and installing a changeover guide which makes the probability for assorting threads in the branching part nearly equal.

CONSTITUTION: Different number of winding grooves and a branching part 1 for assorting threads into the thread passages corresponding to different number of winding grooves are formed on a drum having the grooves for directly or indirectly traversing threads. A changeover guide 2 for making the probability of assorting threads in the branching part 1 equal is installed. The probability of assorting threads in the branching part 1 is made nearly equal by the pensence of the changeover guide 2, and the threads can be assorted equally in probability into the thread passages corresponding to different number of winding grooves.
