To provide a tandem finishing mill, a method for controlling the operation of the same, and an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a hot-rolled steel sheet, by which tension variation can be suppressed even when the sheet thickness is changed and the use and the nonuse of a rolling lubricant are changed at the time of manufacturing an ultrafine grain steel.
In the tandem rolling mill, the method for controlling the operation of the same, the apparatus and the method for manufacturing the hot-rolled steel sheet, when the target value of the sheet thickness from the m-th stand to the N-th stand during rolling one material to be rolled is changed, the target value of the sheet thickness changing time, which is common from the m-th stand to the N-th stand, is determined; the changing rate of the target value of the sheet thickness at the n-th stand is determined from the changing time and the changing amount of the sheet thickness of the n-th stand; the change of the target value of the sheet thickness at the n-th stand is started at the changing rate simultaneously when the changing point of sheet thickness is arrived at the n-th stand; the change of the target value of the sheet thickness is finished after elapsing the changing time and the screw-down position of the n-th stand is corrected continuously so that the sheet thickness on the outlet side of the n-th stand is coincident with the target value of the sheet thickness at least during changing the target value of the sheet thickness of the n-th stand.
