To provide tandem rolling equipment which sufficiently controls a sheet crown and sheet shape by imparting strong roll bending force and furthermore suppresses the occurrence of meandering, camber and warp, in a plate mill and a hot rolling roughing mill, and to provide a stable and highly efficient rolling method using the tandem rolling equipment.
The tandem rolling mill for a metal plate is composed of a plurality of rolling mills. Each of the rolling mills includes an upper work roll-inside chock and an upper work roll-outside chock for supporting an upper work roll, wherein rolling direction force loaded to the body of a lower work roll is supported by a contact surface of a projecting block with a lower work roll chock, rolling direction force loaded to the body of an upper work roll is supported by a contact surface of a rolling mill housing window located above the projecting block with the upper work roll-inside chock, and the upper work roll chock receives increase bending force from a hydraulic cylinder.
