Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely detect tangle without structural restriction of detecting part in the case of higher feed speed of wire rod.

CONSTITUTION: In a detecting device to detect tangle etc., in feeding a wire rod from a tight coil 1, a wire rod 3 fed out from a tight coil 1 is irradiated with light beam by light projector 4 from the direction intersecting orthogonally in the feeding direction and the projected light beam of wire rod 3 is received by an image sensor 5 placed at the opposite position of projector 4 with centering the wire rod 3, the presence/absence of tangle of wire rod 3 is detected based on the light beam receiving state.
