Title:
TANK PROTECTED BY GREASE FROM DAMAGE DUE TO FREEZING OF SOIL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5536668
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To protect an underground low-temperature tank from damage due to the freezing of soil around the tank, by providing grease between the soil and the outside surface of the tank. CONSTITUTION:When the soil 01 in contact with bags 8 are frozen, the soil rises. Since the bags 8 are packed with the grease 9, only a little bonding force acts between the outer body 1 of the tank and the bags 8 and between the frozen soil and the bags. Therefore, the outer body 1 and the soil freely slide relatively to each other on the bags 8 and no lifting force is applied from the frozen soil to the outer body 1. The outer body 1 remains in a fixed position by its own weight and the weight of stored liquid 10 or the like in the tank. Thus, the bottom of the tank is protected from damage due to the frozen soil around the tank. It is very easy and economical to pack the bags 8 with the grease 9 put on the market and interpose the bags between the soil and the outer body 1 of the tank when burying the outer body.
