Abstract:
To provide a tap for a taper pipe thread that can suppress clogging with chips and tearing into a surface subjected to screw machining caused by reduction of biting of chips, in taper female screw machining to piping or the like.SOLUTION: A tap 1 for a taper pipe thread comprises at least: main cutting edges 10, 11 and 12 formed spirally toward an axial direction; main grooves 20, 21 and 22 arranged adjacently to the main cutting edges 10, 11 and 12 and formed spirally; sub cutting edges 30, 31 and 32 arranged adjacently to the main grooves 20, 21 and 22 and formed spirally; and sub grooves 40, 41 and 42 arranged adjacently to the sub cutting edges 30, 31 and 32 and formed spirally, where distances d1 from a central axis O of the tap 1 for a taper pipe thread to the main cutting edges 10, 11 and 12 are set to be longer than distances d2 from the central axis O of the tap 1 for a taper pipe thread to the sub cutting edges 30, 31 and 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
