Abstract:
To provide a tap screw capable of being economically manufactured and exhibiting an excellent thread characteristic.
In the tap screw according to the present invention, a shaft 1 has a trapezoid screw-like profile 3 of a single thread or a multiple thread over at least a part and a flank 6 continued to a crest area 4 is made to a shape enlarged toward a root area 5 and has flank angles α, β increased toward the root area 5. The crest area 4 is provided with a shaft parallel area 8; and an inclined area 7 continued to an opposite side to a threading direction and at least partially inclined toward the root area 5 by about 10°-45°.
