A tap selecting apparatus 101 includes a case 23 filled with insulating medium 15; a tap selector 21 which is arranged outside the case 23 and selects at least one tap from among a plurality of taps provided at a plurality of positions of a winding which a transformer 10 contains; a selecting switch 22, which is arranged inside the case 23 and has a contact point 60 where a load current between the tap selected by the tap selector 21 and a predetermined node flows to switch the contact point 60; a conservator 41, which communicates with the case 23 to form an interface between the insulating medium 15 and gas; a non-oxygen supplier 39 for supplying non-oxygen gas to at least one of the case 23 and the conservator 41; and a valve 45, which is connected to the conservator 41 and regulates a stream of air from outside of the tap selecting apparatus 101 to the conservator 41.
