Abstract:
To provide a tap suitable to tap a metal alloy material dispersed with ceramic particles.
This tap comprises a cutting edge part 2 having a completely threaded cutting edge and a shank 1 to be attached to a tap handle or the like. The cutting edge part 2 has an incomplete thread portion or chamfer 2A for biting a work and a complete thread portion 2B having a cutting edge of one to three threads. The cutting edge part 2 is made of cemented carbide and is also coated with a diamond film formed by chemical vapor deposition or the like.
