CONSTITUTION: This tape driving device is provided with a driving means driving a pair of reels 10, 12 wound with a tape 11, a break plungers 20, 21 driving means operating break plungers 20, 21 in accordance with the driving mode of the tape 11, a tape wind end senser emitting part 18a, a light receiving part 18b, a tape wind start senser emitting part 19a, the light receiving part 19b detecting optically the wind start and the wind end of the tape 11 and a control means controlling the means or being imparted a detective signal from the means. Further, an inspecting mode selecting switch is provided on an operating part 27 and an operation confirming means operating the plunger driving means and confirming the operation of the tape end detecting means by the operation sound is provided when the detective signal is received from the light receiving part 18b, 19b in the inspecting mode of the control means.
