PURPOSE: To obtain a tape feed device wherein the range of the feed speed of a tape is wide, a mechanical loss is small and a power consumption is small by a method wherein a first movement member and a second movement member are installed and moved with reference to a tape running system.

CONSTITUTION: A tape feed device is provided with a feed reel 5, with a take-up reel 6, with six fixed guides 3a to 3f, with a driving source 8 which is used to move two movement guides 4a, 4b to the direction of an arrow A or the direction of an arrow B and with a tape-speed detection sensor 9. A tape 1 is run to the reel 6 via a rotary drum 2 from the reel 5 along the direction of an arrow X. When the speed of the tape 1 passed through the drum 2 becomes slower than a prescribed speed, a guide arm 7 is moved to the direction of the arrow A by the drive of the driving source 8. Thereby, the tape 1 is loosened on the side of the guide 4a, and the tape 1 is pulled at the guide 4b. As a result, the speed at which the tape 1 is passed through the drum 2 while the speed of the tape is definite is increased at the reel 5 and the reel 6. Inversely, when the speed becomes faster than the prescribed speed, the arm 7 is moved to the direction of the arrow B.
