Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable printing a test pattern irrespective of the kind of the width of a tape mounted and to confirm easily characters and marks which can be printed with that tape width.
CONSTITUTION: When a test printing key is inputted, if the tape width stored in a tape cassette, from the detection results of a tape width detector, is 24mm (S15: Yes), the third test pattern data are read out (S16). If the tape width is 12mm or 18mm (S15: No, S17: Yes), the second test pattern data are read out (S18). If the tape width is 6mm or 9mm (S15.S17: No), the first test pattern data are read out (S19). The process for printing the test pattern on a tape is conducted on the basis of the test pattern data read out (S20).
