PURPOSE: To provide a tape printing device wherein characters and figures can be printed simultaneously on a long-sized wide tape in the manner in which character data such as characters and image data such as figures are combined with each other.

CONSTITUTION: A storage area in a RAM 21 is divided into a plurality of areas to provide a character data storage area 21B, handwritten data storage area 21C, and read data storage area 21D, and character data such as characters inputted from a key board are stored in the area 21B, handwritten data such as figures inputted by an electronic pen and touch panel are stored in the area 21C, and image data read from an image scanner are stored in the area 21D. These data are edited so that not only characters but figures can be printed on a tape.
